2.5.1 Regional College Graduation Rates of First-Time, Full-Time, Degree Seeking Freshman
Why is this important?
Finishing one's undergraduate education is of fundamental importance not only to students and their parents but also to colleges and universities. Graduation rates are often viewed as a measure of institutional "performance" or "accountability," since high degree completion rates signify that both the institution and its students have been successful.
This indicator measures the rate of graduation within a six-year period for first-time, full-time, degree-seeking students from Walla Walla University and Whitman College. It does not adjust for expected graduation rates.
Where are we?
During 2023 in Walla Walla County, the higher education graduation rates of first-time, full-time, degree-seeking freshman who attended:
- Whitman College was 90%, increasing from 87% in 2002.
- Walla Walla University was 63%, increasing from 44% in 2002.
